Alfa-Bank Ukraine Paid 4 6 bln of Refinance from the National Bank of Ukraine Ahead of Schedule

Alfa-Bank paid 4.6 bln of the refinancing loan received from the National Bank of Ukraine ahead of schedule and in full. The bank took the refinancing on February 25, the second day of the full-scale invasion of russian troops in Ukraine, at 11% per annum for one year.

Currently, the situation in the banking system as a whole and Alfa-Bank namely stabilized in comparison with the first days of the martial law. So, in April, the balances on the accounts of individuals in the bank in UAH increased by 3% and were UAH 11.25 bln.

We shall remember that in April of 2022 the National Bank of Ukraine agreed the proxy of Alfa-Bank Ukraine, Simeon Dyankov who received voting rights for shares owned by shareholders whose reputation is recognized as impeccable. From now on, within the scope of authorities Mr. Dyankov takes part in management of Alfa-Bank Ukraine which will allow to go through the transformation period effectively and contribute to the recovery of Ukraine's economy.

Alfa-Bank Ukraine is one of the systemically important banks of Ukraine. The bank serves more than 2.5 mln customers-natural persons. It means that the well-being of 4-6 million Ukrainians (together with their family members) depends on timely and high-quality banking services of Alfa-Bank.

The US Treasury Department and the UK Foreign Office stated that Ukrainian Alfa-Bank is a separate legal entity that is not related to the russian bank and is not subject to sanctions.
