Alfa-Bank Ukraine Won the International Award from The Banker for Innovations in Digital Banking

Alfa-Bank Ukraine (it will be Sense Bank soon) won the award from the reputable British Magazine The Banker. The bank won in Innovation in Digital Banking Awards 2022 nomination in Best Bank in Central and Eastern Europe for Innovation in Digital Banking category.

“All last year we worked to provide growth of Sense SuperApp,” — Olha Filipenko, Chief Executive officer, head of Alfa-Bank Ukraine Retail Business and Marketing Unit underlined. “Within the first year of its life, it gained 1.5 million users, it was updated 17 times and got 52 new functions, and grew in the number of deposits and digital loans. Approx. 30 more products were released already during the war. In 2022, despite the difficult circumstances, the digital bank team continues to release new features every two weeks, we have kept the focus on fast and remote access, stable work of Sense, and support of our customers and each other. Sense continues to be the core of our senses.”

The award was given for the successful digital modernization and new strategy of the digital bank in 2021 and the first half of this year. During this time, the usual services became even faster and more convenient: payment for anything and transfer of funds in a few clicks, design of any products and their management on one screen, support without scripts, and etc. New features were often first in the market: remote video identification, the investments that are first in the market, and later — the possibility to buy military bonds inside the mobile bank (also the first in the market) and much more.

Due to the martial law, Sense often turns out to be the only point of access to the bank for the customer, therefore, appropriate functions are added quickly to the digital bank.  The documents necessary for customers — declarations — are now available there, and there is also an opportunity to pass re-identification to open the individual entrepreneur account. In addition, the bank added the function of changing the financial number — it can be both a Ukrainian and a foreign number that is currently very relevant for our customers who were forced to leave Ukraine. One of the latest updates is launch of 24/7 video chat with the support service in Sense SuperApp digital bank. Henceforth, the bank customers can solve issues face-to-face with a support agent in video chat format from anywhere in the world.

We shall remind that in 2021 The Banker already marked Alfa-Bank Ukraine work. The bank won in Bank of the Year 2021 nomination (Bank of the Year award for Ukraine 2021). This year Andri Hrytseniuk, bank’s IT Director who won in Chief Information Officer of the 2022 nomination within the framework of the annual awards Innovation in Digital Banking Awards 2022, also won a personal award.
