The Banker: Alfa-Bank Ukraine IT Director Andri Hrytseniuk is the Best CIO of the World in 2022

The authoritative British Magazine The Banker named Andri Hrytseniuk, Alfa-Bank Ukraine (it will be Sense Bank soon) IT Director, the winner in Chief Information Officer of the 2022 nomination within the annual awards Innovation in Digital Banking Awards 2022.

“For me, such recognition is an honor, but it is, first of all, a reward for my team — professionals, innovators and eager persons, those who, both in peacetime and in wartime, demonstrated a high pace of work and maintained the stability of the bank's systems,” — Andri Hrytseniuk underlined. “It is pleasant that these days technology is not just a support function, but something that helps businesses grow and develop. The bank plays a large role in society in times of chaos, it can be both a point of stability and another cause for worries. We used to work to change the way people think, now we make efforts to make the customer feel supported and understand that we are creating a product with a really important meaning.”

Under management of Andri Hrytseniuk who joined the bank team in autumn of 2020 the technical base was completely rebuilt and updated, the development team was created almost from scratch, and etc. If in the first half of 2021 the bank started 23 projects, in the second half of the year there were 29 projects more. The IT team works according to the hybrid agile method, when several teams can work in parallel, each on its own project.

In general, 2021 became a critical point in the IT work of the bank that in 2022 was ready even in the wartime mode to release new products, repel DDoS attacks successfully, ensure uninterrupted operation of Sense SuperApp in the phone and each terminal of the bank in the country, as well as strengthen ties with the country's leading digital partners.

We shall remind that The Banker also marked the work of Alfa-Bank Ukraine in general — the bank won in Innovation in Digital Banking Awards 2022 nomination in Best Bank in Central and Eastern Europe for Innovation in Digital Banking category. In 2021 the magazine named Alfa-Bank Ukraine the bank of the year 2021 (Bank of the Year award for Ukraine 2021).
